The 27,058-square-foot (2,514-m2) project utilized a custom metal building, StarShield roof system in Galvalume and DuraRib wall system in Almond, all from Star Building Systems. MBCI’s CFW II wall system in Brownstone was also utilized. Completed in August 2009, the metal building was made from Star’s SMS structural system. Brick veneer and wainscot were also utilized on the building’s exterior, in addition to an R-29 simple saver insulation system.
Using a custom metal building was able to save the Roman Catholic Archdiocese approximately $300,000 on this project. The roof on the bell tower of the original school was removed and used on the entrance of the new school.
