Entering the 253,000-square-foot Sentara Brock Cancer Center’s main entrance in Norfolk, Va., occupants are warmly greeted and protectively sheltered by a transparent, single-pitch, aluminum-framed skylight canopy. Burgess Snyder Industries Inc. built it with a 60-foot, 7-inch aluminum-framed span with glazed bays. The canopy has a 1:12 pitch and tapers from 19 feet, 5 inches wide to 9 feet 6 inches.
Acurlite Structural Skylights Inc. supplied skylights with glazing fabricated by Viracon Inc. Linetec anodized aluminum framing in Class I Clear Anodize. Each of 12 bays supports two lites of Viracon’s VE1-85 insulated, coated, heat-strengthened, laminated glass.
