Carol Vaughan Designs and Architecture LLC designed a metal building system for Vail Valley Jet Center at the Eagle County Regional Airport. The hangar has one full-length lean-to down the sidewall of the building, where there is office space. The building has one full-width lean-to that goes across the backside that is used for personal climate-controlled garages.

J&M Steel Solutions Inc. erected Metallic Building Systems’ metal building system for the 38,500-square-foot building. It has a 31-foot eave. At the roof, J&M installed Metallic’s 24-inch Ultra- Dek standing seam roof system in Burnished Slate. Daw Construction Group insulated the roof with Owens Corning’s Elaminator Insulation System with R-36 insulation. J&M installed Metallic’s PBU metal soffit panels in Burnished Slate at overhangs.

At the walls, J&M installed Metallic’s RBU panels in Burnished Slate and Brownstone. The wall panels are oriented vertically and horizontally in different locations. A cultured stone wainscot wraps around the bottom of the walls and at the entrances.

J&M insulated the walls with Thermal Design Inc.’s R-25 Simple Saver System. J&M also installed Norco Manufacturing Corp.’s 154-foot-wide by 28-foot-tall hangar door.
