Houston-based LoneStar Construction has been named the 2014 Mid-West Builder of the Year.
About the presentation, Mid-West President Ed Kohutek said, “Mid-West Steel Building Co. is very fortunate to have a 35-plus year relationship with LoneStar founder Daryl Schroeder and the entire LoneStar group. Our strong relationship has formed the foundation for our great teamwork on projects through the years — large, small, simple, and complex buildings. We presented LoneStar with a custom glass sculpture to commemorate this honor. On it is the inscription, ‘Coming together is a beginning…Keeping together is a process…Working together is success.’ Congratulations to the LoneStar team on their great success, and we look forward to working together for many more years.”
LoneStar Construction is unique in that they are a developer as well as a general contractor, enabling them to offer turnkey services to their customers. For more than 15 years, they’ve specialized in the development and acquisition of single and multi-tenant commercial properties. In fact, LoneStar has built more than 150 office/industrial buildings.
Their first project was the very successful Southbelt Industrial Park, built over a five-year period with a total land and improvement value of more than $60 million dollars.
Their latest project is Energy Park West, a 150-acre master-planned business park in the energy corridor in Katy, TX. It has direct access to I-10, the new Grand Parkway and US Hwy. 90.
In addition to industrial parks, LoneStar has constructed oil field service plants, crane buildings, warehouses, food distribution buildings, freezer/cooler space, and recreational/watersport facilities.
This is not LoneStar Construction’s first accolade from Mid-West Steel Building Co. Their JAMCo building in Bastrop, Texas, was named 2014 Mid-West Building of the Year, and their Bayou City Event Center in Houston captured the Building of the Year title in 2012, and they were also named Builder of the Year the same year.
