The American Institute of Steel Constructionis announced the appointment of Richard Phillips to its Board of Directors. Confirmed during AISC’s recent quarterly meeting in Chicago, Phillips will immediately begin serving on the board of directors, assisting with the organization’s planning and leadership in the steel construction industry. As President of Hirschfeld Industries, Phillips is responsible for the management of all operating divisions for the company, including financing and human resources. He also oversees all executive-level strategic business decisions, capital positioning, market development, and investment in capital assets. Phillips also serves as CEO of Martifer-Hirschfeld Energy Systems, a partnership with Oliveira de Frades, Portugal-based Martifer Group to manufacture wind tower systems, where he manages North American operations and supervising wind tower design, production, and shipping.
