James E. Theimer, AIA, LEED AP, principal, TRILOGY Architecture, Redding, Calif.

Theimer received his bachelor of architecture from Cornell University. He founded the TRILOGY design studio in 1990, where he maintains a generalist approach toward architecture without emphasis on any single building type. He believes in collaboration with other architects, design with a strong connection between indoors and out, and a belief that architects have many different ways to contribute to better communities.

Ryan D. Martin, AIA, NCARB, vice president-director of design, LEO A DALY, Dallas

Martin is the lead architect in LEO A DALY’s top-ranked hospitality group. His expertise includes boutique hotels, luxury resorts, urban business hotels and major mixed-use developments. His design approach emphasizes aesthetics and operational functionality in creating memorable guest experiences. He is a collaborative leader, pulling the best out of his team of world-class designers to fully realize their clients’ visions and deliver a high degree of technical excellence. Martin received his Master in Architecture from The University of Texas at Arlington College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs (CAPPA).

Lewis McNeel, AIA, associate, Lake|Flato Architects, San Antonio

McNeel is an associate at Lake|Flato Architects in San Antonio, where he leads the design of a diverse range of high-performing buildings and master plans. After earning degrees from the University of Virginia, he worked for a year in East Africa designing climate-responsive schools and community centers on remote sites. He joined Lake|Flato in 2006, where he pursues a passion for creating extraordinary places to engage with the arts and to connect viscerally with the natural world. His recent architectural work includes the design of TreeHouse’s net zero energy flagship store in Dallas, and a studio art building for Knox College in in Galesburg, Ill.
