Louvers mitigate heat gain
Draper Inc.’s FlexLouver rack arm systems are energy positive. The exterior/interior systems are long-lasting solar control solutions to reduce heat gain and HVAC energy use. To control light, operable aluminum louvers rotate from zero degrees to 90 degrees. FlexLouver systems have three parts: louvers, rack arms and drive mechanisms. Aluminum rack arms affix to structures. Drive mechanisms operate the louvers, which are 80-mm to 160-mm aluminum. FlexLouver systems have motorized and manual operation. To follow sunlight and control direct light penetration into spaces, motorized systems are operated in Draper’s IntelliFlex I/O automated shade control program. Aluminum parts can be recycled.

Translucent walls minimize energy consumption
Diffusing characteristics of Exterior Technologies Inc.’s (EXTECH) LIGHTWALL 3450 Series cellular polycarbonate glazing provides energy-efficient daylighting, lowers dependence on electric lighting and reduces solar heat gain. Because it is a dry-glazed system, VOC emissions are reduced. LIGHTWALL 3450’s 50-mm structural cellular polycarbonate glazing is insulating and recyclable. Also, the system is produced with recycled aluminum framing.

Flexible solar panels perform reliably 25 years
Sunflare Solar Co.’s Powerfit20 solar panels for standing seam metal roof systems are thin, light, flexible modules with butyl adhesive backing, peeled and stuck to secure. The first 10 years, they have 90% efficiency output; from 11 years to 25 years, they have 80% efficiency output.
Fabric HVAC reduces energy consumption
Round DuctSox with fabric, linear air vents in rows allow air to be dispersed evenly throughout the length of the product. It was evaluated according to ISO 14025, EN 15804+A2 and ISO 21930:2017, and published in an EPD.
Copper anodize finish looks like pennies
Linetec’s copper anodize finish for architectural aluminum products looks like a copper penny and maintains its color. It complies with Living Building Challenge criteria from the International Living Future Institute and is Red List free.
