To build the University of Pittsburgh’s Medical Center (UPMC) Outpatient Center in West Mifflin, Pa., an off-white, one-story, split-face concrete block former big box store was transformed with metal wall panels into a modern health care facility.

A.C. Dellovade Inc. used CENTRIA’s Formawall Dimension Series insulated metal panels (IMPs) to reclad the 46,000-square-foot UPMC Outpatient Center without having to tear down exterior walls. Installers fastened metal framing and sub-girts directly to concrete block and hung the IMPs. The 22-gauge steel IMPs are 2 inches thick and in four colors: Clay, Sedona, Sienna and Silver. Additionally, for a mechanical screen wall at the roof, A.C. Dellovade installed CENTRIA’s 18-gauge steel BR5-36 exposed fastener panels in Medium Gray.
