To replace a 65-year-old city hall building, Modus Studio designed two metal buildings with a connecting corridor to house the Green Forest City Hall and Green Forest Police Department.

The tops of the buildings feature perforated metal panels with backlighting. They also have metal roofing and metal walls. Solar tube skylights provide daylighting and connecting corridor functions as a break room.

The 6,762-square-foot facility is located near the Green Forest’s downtown square. It houses the city’s offices, police department, city council chambers, courthouse and utility offices.

To build the city hall and police department facility, Crow Fabrications LLC erected American Buildings Co.’s single-slope rigid framing metal building systems with parapet walls.

For an uncovered, gated courtyard between the two buildings, in front of the connecting corridor, Fig Tree Steel fabricated structural steel framing and supports. Oelke Construction Co., general contractor, built the courtyard.

At roofs for the two buildings and connecting corridor, Crow Fabrications installed American Buildings’ Standing Seam 360 roof system with a Galvalume finish.

To build the backlit perforated panel feature at the top of the police department building and courtyard, Crow Fabrications installed ATAS International Inc.’s Gaten Series perforated metal wall panels in Charcoal Grey PVDF.

At low sidewalls on the police department building, connecting corridor and an entrance to the courthouse, Crow Fabrications installed ATAS’ Belvedere Short Rib metal wall panels in Charcoal Grey PVDF.
