Pavilion Pattern

SNAPSHOT

Henning Jul18 1

London-based Henning Stummel Architects Ltd. designed the Tin House residence in London with six connected pavilion structures arranged in a U-shape around the perimeter of an irregularly shaped site. The pavilions establish privacy for occupants among taller, adjacent buildings. Exterior Metal Crafts Ltd., Bexley, England, installed 5,000 square feet of Stockholm’s SSAB AB’s GreenCoat PLX Pro BT coated-steel, standing seam roof panels in Brick Red on the roofs and walls. Their iron oxide color blends with the surrounding brown-, red- and rust-colored buildings. The panels’ Biobased Technology coating uses Swedish rapeseed oil instead of traditional fossil oil, which reduces the environmental footprint.
