Last year, Metal Construction News founded the Metal Construction Hall of Fame, and this year we are proud to announce the 2013 honorees. Along with our partners, the Metal Construction Association, the Metal Building Manufacturers Association, and the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association, we congratulate:
- Dr. Duane S. Ellifritt, University of Florida
- Mary Farrar, All Pro Construction
- Donald L. Johnson, P.E., Butler Manufacturing
- Tem McElroy, McElroy Metal
- Ted S. Miller, The Miller-Clapperton Partnership
- Clark Prudhon, Varco Pruden Buildings
MCN started the Metal Construction Hall of Fame with two goals in mind. We wanted to recognize people in our industry who have made significant contributions and, in some way, changed and improved all of our lives. We also wanted to draw more attention to the innovation, dynamism and excitement of the metal construction industry. The six honorees presented on these pages showcase the dynamism and excitement, as well as serving as strong beacons to our industry.
Categories and Legacy Award
Honorees are inducted in one of three categories:
Manufacturer/Supplier
- Johnson
- McElroy
- Prudhon
Contractor/Installer
- Farrar
- Miller
Friend of the Industry
- Ellifritt
This year, the judging panel recommended the creation of a Legacy Award that allows for posthumous recognition in the Hall of Fame. Two of our honorees this year fit into this category: Miller and Prudhon.
The Criteria
The Metal Construction Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who have made significant contributions to the success, innovation and growth of the metal construction industry. Body of Work: The depth and breadth of contribution to the industry throughout a career.
Legacy: The honoree’s contribution must have had a long-lasting impact on the industry.
Integrity: Honorees must exhibit the highest ethical and professional standards in all aspects of business.
