As the nation’s steel industry prepares for the second annual “SteelDay” on September 24, Gerdau Ameristeel is again taking an industry lead through hosting two regional multi-facility tours. Gerdau Ameristeel is actively planning two “Integrated SteelDay Tours,” one in North Texas, near Dallas, the other in the Southeast, near Atlanta, Georgia. In both tours, participants will have the opportunity to see how steel is prepared for construction projects, from raw steel scrap to fully fabricated and galvanized members.
“Based on the success of our 2009 SteelDay tours, we immediately began planning to create for 2010 another opportunity for professionals and students to see how steel is not only one of the best choices for ‘green’ building materials, but is readily available for improved project planning and construction.” said Matt Gomez, Gerdau Ameristeel national sales manager.
