Rigid Global Buildings is pleased to announce the promotion of Shawna Wang to Vice President of Purchasing. Shawna graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in Construction Management in 2012 and joined Rigid shortly after as Purchasing Coordinator.
Over the course of the next nine years, Shawna has worked her way to Purchasing Manager and now VP. During the unprecedented pandemic period from 2019 to 2021, the metal building industry was impacted by the breakdown of the supply chain and continuously changing pricing environment. Shawna worked diligently to make sure Rigid had the necessary material for manufacturing and minimized the impact of the steel shortage.
In addition, Shawna also maintains exceptional and professional working relationships with all vendors which allows Rigid to remain at the forefront when material is needed and available. Her profound knowledge of Epicor also allows her to contribute to enhancing Rigid’s ERP system offering a dynamic tool for the management team.
In her new role, Shawna is expected to be involved with equipment purchases and maintenance, as well as working directly with shop personnel to assist in the management of the “min/max” inventory system.
