Star Builders, employees and guests gathered in Las Vegas April 3-5t and in Orlando April 17-19== for Star’s 2013 Builder Conferences. The Las Vegas conference was held at the Cosmopolitan on the Las Vegas strip and the Orlando conference was held at the impressive Marriott Orlando World Center. Total attendance at the two meetings exceeded 450 people.
The meetings followed an identical agenda and kicked off on Wednesday afternoon with a General Session. JohnNegich, Star’s Vice President of Sales served as host for the meetings. David Alexander, Star’s President, addressed the General Assembly with a review of 2012, followed by Joe Edge, Managing Director of International Services, who updated the group on Star’s International accomplishments. Said Moussa, Star Builder from Djibouti, Africa, was in attendance in Las Vegas to continue the International presentation with an overview of opportunities in Africa.
Bryan Arlington, Director of Estimating, provided an update on the Star Builder System (SBS) in which he
reviewed recent enhancements and outlined what’s coming soon. During the course of the meeting, Star Builders had the option to attend four of eight breakout presentations with topics including SBS Value Engineering, Insulation and Energy Codes, Insulated Metal Panels, Magnetic Digital Marketing, Utilizing Star’s Calculations Package, SBS Drawings for Presentations, a Build/Lease Roundtable, and Roof Installation and Warranties.
Star’s annual Awards Dinner was held on Thursday evening. Star Builders were honored and recognized for their 2012 accomplishments including Million Dollar Awards, President’s Club Awards, Master Builder Awards and Star’s Builder of the Year Award. Star Top award winners included Landmark Builders, Watertown, SD, who was recognized as Star’s 2012 Builder of
the Year, and Hastco, Inc., Topeka, KS, who was selected as Star’s 2012 Master Builder of the Year for their AgPower Enterprises, Inc. project. Star District Manager, P. J. Bogensberger, Heartland District, was named Star’s 2012 District Manager of the Year.
Following the conclusion of the Las Vegas Conference, Star’s President’s Advisory Council assembled for two half day sessions.
