Vulcraft Group, and a subsidiary of Nucor Corporation (NUE), has achieved ISO 14001 certification. ISO 14001 certification is a voluntary standard that can be adopted by any business or community that is interested in taking an active stance in reducing its environmental footprint. Vulcraft takes pride in its environmental policy and every team member’s dedication to constantly improving protection efforts.
Embarking on the ISO 14001 certification is a daunting mission. Vulcraft invested thousands of hours for its seven locations to receive the prestigious certification. Education and training was required for every team member at all levels of the company. The ISO 14001 standard requires that an organization enforce and implement a series of practices and procedures that, when fully developed, result in an Environmental Management System (EMS). The intent of the EMS is to continually reduce the environmental footprint of a business and to decrease the pollution and waste a business produces. Not only does Vulcraft adhere to these high standards but they require their contractors, vendors and suppliers to comply with applicable environmental laws as well.
