The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) is introducing a new communication tool aimed at both members and customers of aluminum extrusions with The Shapemakers podcast series. The purpose of the series is to inform and educate the audience, including members of AEC, extrusion customers and the academic community, about important and timely issues in and around the aluminum extrusion industry. It gives AEC another convenient way to reach its various audiences through short audio recordings focusing on a specific topic. Podcasts are a popular and ever-growing medium for informing and reaching audiences.
AEC plans to feature interviews with Council members and leaders, as well as those from the manufacturing industry, academia and elsewhere informing listeners about the latest developments that will impact businesses. The Shapemakers podcast series will appeal to those interested in how market, economic and industry forces are shaping the aluminum extrusion world and promises to enlighten and inspire all who listen.
“This show has something for everyone interested in learning more about aluminum extrusions,” said AEC President Jeff Henderson who hosts some of the first episodes addressing details about the historic Aluminum Extrusion Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duty Trade Cases. The Shapemakers podcast will help to bring the story front-and-center with discussions meant to educate and inform listeners. Other topics will include the efforts of AEC members to attract and retain skilled workers, how stricter energy and building codes may affect extruded aluminum products, extruded aluminum automotive applications and myriad other issues.
“We are hoping our message not only reaches a larger audience, but, most importantly, reaches various trade professionals like engineers, industrial designers, specifiers and architects,” said Jason Weber, AEC Marketing Team Leader and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Taber Extrusions in Russellville, AR.
