AISC Announces New Flash Steel Conference

The American Institute of Steel Construction is introducing a new conference that is designed for today’s hectic pace of life.

The Flash Steel Conference will take place October 20-22.

The virtual event features 20 half-hour sessions whose impact far exceeds the time commitment. Participants can earn up to 10 PDHs.

The time slots may be small, but the names are big. Participants can expect presentations on:

  • Nice splices, from the visible connections in AESS (presented by AISC Special Achievement Award winner Terri Meyer Boake) to a round-up of Steel Solutions Center FAQs
  • Beam stability bracing, with AISC T.R. Higgins Lectureship Award winner Bo Dowswell
  • Delegated connection design with AISC Lifetime Achievement Award winner Carol Drucker
  • What Jon Magnusson has learned over several decades of groundbreaking building design
  • What welding guru and AISC Robert P. Stupp Award for Leadership Excellence winner Duane Miller thinks engineers and detailers should know about welded connections
  • A dispatch from the future, with AISC Special Achievement Award winner Amit Varma

The whole schedule is online at aisc.org/flash.
