ASAE installs AIA EVP/Chief Executive Officer Lakisha Ann Woods as Board Chair

Lakisha Ann Woods, CAE, AIA EVP/Chief Executive Officer, has been installed as Chair of the Board of Directors for The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).

“I’m honored to serve as Board Chair in this pivotal moment in ASAE’s evolution,” said Woods. “Working with ASAE’s dynamic president and CEO, Michelle Mason, and a very committed, talented group of leaders on the ASAE Board, we will continue to advance ASAE’s strategic framework in support of this amazing, diverse community of association leaders. ASAE’s future is bright and the opportunities for further creative, agile leadership are limitless.”

“Lakisha is a leader among leaders. She will be an exemplary Board Chair of ASAE. Her infectious passion and insistence on mission discipline will serve her well,” said 2022 President of The American Institute of Architects Dan Hart, FAIA. “The AIA is thrilled to share her gifts and to support her in this pursuit. We are lucky to have a leader as engaged and committed to our profession as Lakisha.”

New officers and directors for the ASAE and ASAE Research Foundation Boards of Directors were officially installed during ASAE’s 2022 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Nashville, with terms beginning September 1, 2022.

The ASAE and ASAE Research Foundation Boards were selected by ASAE’s Leadership Committee in July. The Leadership Committee develops a pool of candidates for board service based on several criteria, including how they best characterize ASAE’s strategy, represent their organizations’ membership and enhance ASAE’s commitment to diverse representation, which is inclusive of geography, association size, career level, gender, identity, ethnicity, skill sets and areas of expertise.
