The Aluminum Association’s Executive Committee appointed Layle K. (Kip) Smith, president and CEO of Noranda Aluminum Holding Co. to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Aluminum Association.
Smith became President and CEO of Noranda in March 2008. In addition to his time with Noranda, Smith began his career in 1977 at The Dow Chemical Co. and has held various management positions including international and business leadership positions at The Dow Chemical Com., COO of resolution performance products, and CEO of covalence specialty materials. In a career of over three decades he has gained leadership experience in specialty and commodity industrial products as well as high tech products for the power industry.
