The Malco Group has earned the 2025 Governor’s Workplace Safety Award for demonstrating excellence in safety and health, protecting its workforce from injuries, illnesses, and workplace incidents. Congratulations!
“Malco’s top priority is keeping our team members safe,” said Anthony Rivera, environmental health and safety manager. “Safety isn’t a choice; it’s a commitment that we make every day.”
Presented by the Minnesota Safety Council, the award recognizes employers across the state that achieve an incidence rate better than the 50th percentile of both the state and national averages for their industry.
Malco—a manufacturer and distributor of HVACR and building construction products—has earned the Governor’s Safety Award 16 times in the last 21 years. The company was presented with the Silver Achievement Award during a ceremony in May.
Malco’s health and safety program encompasses:
- A safety management system, with annual safety goals.
- A safety committee that reviews safety procedures, undertakes additional training throughout the year, and monitors progress.
- Monthly reviews of safety performance metrics.
- Paid time for associates to participate in safety-related activities.
- Regular safety inspections and safe work observations.
“We are proud to be consistently recognized by the State of Minnesota for our efforts to develop successful safety and health programs that make Malco a great place to work,” Rivera added.
