The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) announced Fleming Steel Erectors, a division of Fleming Construction Group Inc., headquartered in Tulsa, Okla., and providing services throughout the United States, is the first metal building assembler based in Oklahoma to obtain AC478 accreditation administered by the International Accreditation Service (IAS). AC478, Accreditation for Metal Building Assemblers Inspection, is a standard to recognize metal building assemblers committed to excellence.
Additionally, MBCEA announced Bobbitt Construction Inc., headquartered in Cary, N.C., and servicing North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, was the first metal building assembler in North Carolina to obtain AC478 accreditation.
Achieving this accreditation demonstrates Fleming Steel Erectors and Bobbitt Construction have the personnel, organizational skills, experience, knowledge, management procedures, and commitment to assemble metal buildings by code, specifications, costs, and deadlines. Requirements for this accreditation include documented management systems, safety training, quality managers, OSHA training, documented safety plans, and site-specific plans.
Robert Tiffin, president at MBCEA, says
“With [Fleming Steel Erectors’] branding and reputation of ‘taking the division out of division 13’ underscored by ‘ready to deliver the experience,’ we are honored to welcome you to the exclusive group of AC478 accredited members. We look forward to your success and industry contributions. Personally, I am thrilled to learn from you and will look forward to those opportunities.”
Justin Willett, president at Fleming Construction Group, says, “To be recognized as an AC478 accredited company is a huge milestone and a reflection of the entire [Fleming Steel Erectors] team’s professionalism and dedication to their craft. I couldn’t be prouder of our team and their commitment to quality and safety.”

Brian Denisar, CEO at Bobbitt Construction, says, “Pursuing the IAS AC478 accreditation was a natural step for us as we continue to strengthen our safety practices, training, and project execution. The process gave us the opportunity to take a close look at the systems we depend on and ensure they meet a nationally recognized standard. Being the only metal building assembler in North and South Carolina to earn this accreditation highlights our commitment to doing the job right for our clients, our teams, and the communities we serve.”
