
The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association’s (MBCEA) Mid-Atlantic division presented two students, Will Hance and Cade Hutchison, with $6,000 scholarships each. The presentation occurred at MBCEA’s annual holiday social in Blue Bell, Pa.
Hance, from Long Valley, N.J., is a first-year student at Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. He studies entrepreneurship and construction management and was sponsored by Hance Construction Inc., of Washington, N.J., where he works during the summer.
Hutchison, from Chesterfield, N.J., is a sophomore at University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt. He is studying civil engineering and is on the dean’s list. He was sponsored by Thomas Phoenix International, located in Eastampton, N.J., where he has worked for several summers.
“Congratulations to [Hance and Hutchison] for earning these scholarships,” says Sasha Demyan, MBCEA executive director. “Their experience and desire to learn more will help improve the industry. They are great examples for anyone interested in working with metal buildings. We are proud to honor them with these awards.”
The Mid-Atlantic Division comprises metal building contractors and erectors in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia, all MBCEA members. The scholarship program is available to employees of member companies and their children. The program is intended to help train workers and improve the metal building industry. Undergraduate and graduate school, vocational school, continuing education, and apprenticeship training programs are eligible for scholarships. For more information, visit MBCEA’s website.
