With more and more women taking a career path into the metal construction industry, the organizers of METALCON are inviting women to inspire and be inspired by their colleagues at Metal & Mimosas during the upcoming tradeshow.
Metal & Mimosas is scheduled for 7-9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, the opening day of the three-day tradeshow at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Now in its third year, Metal & Mimosas at METALCON has become a cornerstone event for women in the metal construction and design industry.
“It was a fantastic way to start the day,” says Karen Knapstein of Shield Wall Media. “It felt like a jump start, breakfast, and conversation with fellow industry colleagues … how can you go wrong?”
Kerri Kelly of Everlast Metals enjoyed Metal & Mimosas as well. “This was a great event and fun for the women to get together in a male-dominated industry,” she says. “Keep up the great work! We would attend again in the future.”
“What started as a small networking breakfast has grown significantly each year, both in attendance and impact,” says Amanda Carlow, METALCON sales and marketing coordinator. “Now in its third year, this growth has allowed us to expand the scope of the event, introducing new programming, enhanced networking opportunities, and greater visibility for women leaders in the field. The evolution of Metal & Mimosas reflects the increasing momentum behind empowering women in construction and the industry’s strong desire for more inclusive spaces.”
Jennifer Wilkerson, vice president – innovation and advancement at the National Center for Construction Education and Research will be the guest speaker at this year’s Metal & Mimosas.
“Attendees can expect a high-energy, supportive atmosphere focused on connection, inspiration, and growth,” Carlow adds. “The event includes networking activities that help break the ice and ensure attendees have the opportunity to meet new peers, build professional relationships and feel part of a larger community. A highlight of the morning is a presentation by Jennifer Wilkerson, a respected woman in the industry, offering real-world insights, lessons learned, and motivational takeaways. It’s not just a breakfast; it’s an experience that leaves attendees energized and empowered.”
The cost of the event is $25 and includes breakfast, mimosas, networking and a special presentation. To learn more or reserve a spot, visit https://metalcon.com/metal-mimosas.
“Metal & Mimosas welcomes all women working in construction and design, regardless of their role, experience level or career stage,” Carlow says. “Whether you’re a seasoned executive, a project manager, an architect, or just starting your career, this event is designed to offer something meaningful for everyone. It’s an encouraging space where women across all sectors and specialties can come together to share their experiences, celebrate achievements and uplift one another.”
