The Steel Framing Industry Association conducted its first annual election of officers and directors during the recent AWCI Convention & INTEX EXPO in Las Vegas.

The officers are President Bill Courtney of Clark Dietrich Building Systems, Vice President Ray Frobosilo of Super Stud Building Products Inc., Secretary Scott Segal of MBA Building Supplies and Treasurer Mike Gallo of Steel Structural Systems. The directors are Mark Benz of MB Steel Co.; Ken Staub of American Steel Framing; Kennon Whaley of Southeastern Stud & Components Inc.; Lindsay Howard of The Formetal Co. Inc.; Robert Wills, AISI Designated Mill Representative; Clint Valleau, Allied Building Products Corp.; and John Hinson of Marek Brothers-Dallas. The SFIA Executive Committee is made up of Courtney, Frobosilo, Segal, Gallo, Wills, Valleau and Hinson.

“The explosive growth in membership of the SFIA in such a short period of time highlights the desire of all industry stakeholders to focus on growth opportunities that exist in our industry” says Bill Courtney. Clint Valleau adds: “The key elements of the association-promotion, advocacy, education and innovation-create the right atmosphere for moving the industry in a unified direction.”

The SFIA is the first and only all-inclusive association focused on promotion, advocacy, education and innovation for the steel framing industry. The primary goal is to unify the industry to expand the market for cold-formed steel framing. Membership categories include steel mills, coil coaters, processors, roll-formers, fabricators, engineers, material distributors; all the way through and including the end-user, the framing contractors.
