#6 Fairchild Square, Lot E, Clifton Park, N.Y.

Fairchild Square is an office/warehouse. Economy and flexibility of design were two of the reasons why a metal building system from Star Building Systems was chosen for this project. R-30 Purlin Glide roof insulation was provided by Guardian Building Products, along with 6-inch-thick wall insulation. Durarib wall panels were installed in a reverse-rolled fashion on the entire project. Double-Lok roof panels in Burnished Slate with the same color trim was utilized at the office portion. Double-Lok Galvelume Plus was used on the remaining structure.

A 4-foot-high stone façade was utilized at two walls of the office portion with metal stud framing in the girt line for support. There were 4,040 insulated, tinted fixed windows set into the stone façade at a 3-foot-sill elevation to create a pleasing street view. The warehouse/office features a lower 60- by 40-foot gabled office portion supported by bracketed rafters at one endwall of the taller single-slope warehouse. At the opposite endwall of the warehouse is a 40- by 50-foot single-slope structure matching the roofline of the warehouse and bearing on its endframe. The warehouse dimensions are 110 by 296 feet with 21 5/12- and 26-foot eave heights. Total square footage of the buildings is 34,960 square feet with 38,178 square feet of roof panels and 22,521 square feet of wall panels. This project consists of approximately 77 tons of structural and cold-formed steel.
