A design-build project with a metal building system was completed for Bottomley Enterprises’ trucking terminal and maintenance facility. The project used Kirby Building Systems’ metal building system and Galvalume SS360 standing seam roof system. Over conditioned areas, the roof is insulated with an R-32 liner system. Over the shop, the roof is insulated with R-19 blanket insulation.

Walls have three materials: metal, EIFS and stone. All Steel Construction Inc. installed Kirby Reversed Roll Panels (KRP) in Kynar Lightstone. Over girt lines, walls are insulated with R-19 blanket insulation. Over a partition wall, the wall is insulated with R-13 blanket insulation. At an office area, walls have stud cavity insulation.

The 28,800-square-foot building has a full mezzanine with bar joists and 6-inch-thick concrete floor that spans 38 feet. Other features include partial height curb walls, a partition wall, crane from Mid-Atlantic Crane and Equipment Co., RCS–Roof Curb Systems’ roof curbs, McNICHOLS Co.’s trench grating and Big Ass Fans’ HVLS fans.
