The new 405,000-square-foot (37,625-m2) high school opened on Sept. 8, 2009 with an enrollment of 1,050 students in grades 9-11. Architectural firm Perkins + Wills was brought in to design and create a new look for the high school that would make the students proud. The architects used 78,450 linear feet (23,912-m) of Hunter Douglas’ Box 4 linear metal ceiling panels “profile-wrapped” in wood veneer, which offers a unique blend of durability, warmth and sustainability.
Chosen to provide a warm, real-wood ceiling for the new high school, the profile-wrapped ceiling panel utilizes a thin wood veneer finish factory laminated to the aluminum ceiling panel. The aluminum panel is made up of more than 70 percent recycled content.
