The 40,000-square-foot facility contains nearly 10 acres under one roof for FlightSafety International’s manufacturing plant that produces aircraft flight simulators, visual systems and aeronautical displays.
According to Robert Kelly, president of Core Architects: “Yes, it’s a huge industrial building but we wanted a clean, modern look for the entryway to the reception area and administrative offices. The Citadel panels really helped deliver that look.”
Cladding the entryway are Citadel Architectural Products’ Envelope 2000 metal composite material (MCM) metal wall panels in Gun Metal, installed using the Reveal (RV) System. The design-build project was completed by Crossland Construction Co. on a fast-track schedule that began in June 2010 and was completed in May 2011. The structure was pre-cast and structural steel.
