To contribute to a responsive and welcoming exterior environment at Flyte’s three-building office campus, Ware Malcomb designed a walkway canopy in a courtyard and continued the same metal paneling at the entrance.
The canopy and entrance are clad with white laser cut and perforated metal. The metal wall panels break up the entry’s arch and allow some transparency to the interior. The bright color softens the building’s bulk and establishes a focal point at the entrance. Daylight emits through perforations in the metal to tile below, drawing attention above and below the canopy.
In total, Emerald Metal Products Inc. installed 5,000 square feet of Móz Designs’ laser cut and perforated aluminum. The aluminum sheets, 5 feet wide by 10 feet long, have the company’s Bubbles pattern and are powder-coated white on both sides.
