Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, Gaylord, Md.

Doralco worked with TSI/Exterior Wall Systems to create an Airfoil Sunshade and Screenwall solution to match the unique style and flair of the hotel and conference center.

Doralco supplied 4,650 square feet (432 m2) of screen wall and sunshades for the project. The Intertec sunshades run above the windows and provide sun control for the building. Doralco extruded a custom 9-inch (229- mm) diamond-shape airfoil, allowing optimum sun control to be obtained. The screen wall panels are approximately 5 by 10 feet (1.5 by 3 m) and use a 9-inch airfoil infill.

"Our 9-inch airfoil acted as a screen wall along the roof line to help hide some of the more unsightly equipment on the roof. The design allowed it to match other features on the building and enhance the overall design," said Brian Clifford, president of Doralco.

The hotel was recently awarded the Best Convention Center Hotel from the Web site Hotel Interactive.
