Georgia State University’s College of Law, Atlanta

Stevens and Wilkinson specified zinc panels and a curtainwall for Georgia State University’s College of Law. It was designed to attain LEED Silver certification.

The zinc panels designate the law library on the top two floors, frame the main façade and form a canopy over the entrance. MillerClapperton installed 16,000 square feet of Arconic Architectural Products USA’s 4-mm-thick Reynobond zinc composite material (ZCM) panels with fire-retardant (FR) core in Quartz for the project.

The building’s expansive, double-height, exterior curtainwall was supplied by YKK AP America Inc. Its YCW 750 XT IG Curtain Wall System was installed.

The College of Law is located on a 2.42-acre site in Atlanta’s downtown area. The law library includes flexible learning space, a reading area, cafe and outdoor terrace. In addition to the law library, the 205,000-square-foot facility houses 21 classrooms, courtrooms for clinical practice and community outreach, a 200-seat conference center, 230-seat mock courtroom auditorium and International Arbitration Center. The $82.5 million project was completed in January 2016.
