Lafayette Airport, Lafayette, La

An old hangar at the airport featured a curved roof
with an existing frame spacing 5 feet on-center (o.c.).
McElroy Metal and Architectural Building Components
supplied several re-covers using the Titan 300
and 238T roof systems. The building is insured by
Factory Mutual (FM). The 24-gauge, 16-inch-wide
238T roof panels with a 2:38 pitch in Regal White and
featuring curved continuous clips is one of very few
metal roof systems to be tested at FM as a retrofit
using a Roof Hugger. The FM 1-195 rating over open
purlins 60 inches o.c. made the 238T the only roof
panel that could meet FM's requirements.
