Metallic Building Co.’s metal building system bolstered the design of the Manchaca Fire Station to reflect the local farming and ranching lifestyle. Bailey Elliott Construction led the 11,874-squarefoot facility project, which represented the ad hoc development of a farm over the years. Completed in March 2012, the project utilized Metallic Building’s SuperLok Galvalume Roof Panels, PBR wall panels and Signature 200 exterior panels in Crimson Red.
The administration building captured the aesthetic of a small farmhouse that later grew into a larger residence, expressed with the station’s attached dormitory. The truck bay, constructed with Metallic Building’s building system, represented the addition of a farm equipment barn, which rounded out the farming story. The administration building and station were built with wood frame construction.
