Office & Mixed-Use

McAllister Plaza, San Antonio

The 12-story, multitenant Class A office building utilized metal wall panels from Alcan Composites USA Inc. as part of its major upgrade that resulted in a modernized finish and systems. The building features a fivestory main entry/atrium and an attached parking structure. Completed in 2008, the 190,567-square-foot (17,704-m2) office building sits on 6.03 acres (2.4 hectares).

The building features brushed aluminum vertical elements and a unique, mirrored glass curtainwall. The interior is highlighted by a five-story steel and glass atrium, while the building has a steel-reinforced pouredin-place concrete frame.

Alcan supplied approximately 30,000 square feet (2,787 m2) of Alucobond Brushed Natural aluminum composite material panels installed in Armetco's RSX rainscreen system. Steel framing was attached through the face of existing fiberglass-reinforced panels to the structure, and the ACM panel system was attached to the framing. In addition to the main building elevation, the entry and bridge to the parking garage was clad with the ACM.
