Located in Austin, Texas, the
McCallum High School Fine Arts Building was designed by SHW Group LLP, Austin. Texas Roofing Co., Austin, installed 23,000 square feet of 12- and 16-inch Snap-Clad Panels in Silver Metallic from Petersen Aluminum Corp., Elk Grove Village, Ill. The building also features 4,000 square feet of Petersen’s 12-inch Flush Panels and 12,000 square feet of Flat Sheet.
The McCallum Fine Arts Academy draws students from across the Austin Independent School District and provides an accelerated, comprehensive arts curriculum. The $9 million facility features a 524-seat theatre, scene shop, dressing rooms and storage areas. The building also includes visual arts classrooms, and the lobby doubles as an art gallery. “The space itself is spectacular. It really stands alone as a work of art,” says Cari Clark, Mc-Callum, parent and chair of the Friends of the McCallum Fine Arts Academy.
