To create a sense of depth and texture, corrugated metal panels were used on the exterior of Mount Si High School. NAC Architecture’s design incorporates a variation between material surfaces, textures and colors to represent vast forms of nature and provide a semiotic backdrop for each area of campus.

Mount Si High School, east of Seattle, lies on the western margin of the Cascade Mountain Range, just above the coastal plains around Puget Sound. The campus, which has four buildings housing 358,000 square feet, lies within the floodway of the Snoqualmie River, giving the structure a unique appearance as it is elevated above flood levels.

MD Exteriors Inc. installed 130,000 square feet of Pure + FreeForm’s 1-mm-thick aluminum panels in two finishes: Caramel Cedar and Mercury Glass Gold. The façade has two custom corrugated profiles in Mercury Glass Gold. Flush panels in Caramel Cedar were used for soffits.
