Northwood Academy Upper School, Summerville, S.C.

A metal building system with a metal roof was used to build Northwood Academy Upper School in the Carnes Crossroads community. The school is on a 40-acre campus with an athletic field and church. It is phase one of a two-phase project; phase two will include Northwood Academy Lower School. Upper School is oriented along several axes to maximize space on the site and coordinate with the church and Lower School.

Trident Construction LLC erected American Buildings Co.’s metal building system and installed 58,000 square feet of its standing seam roof system in Evergreen and Galvalume for the project.

Upper School is attended by students in grades 6-12. It houses 23 classrooms, administrative and office spaces, a cafeteria, computer lab, media room, gymnasium and locker rooms. Construction of Upper School began in May 2015 and was completed in July 2016.
