Located in New York’s picturesque Finger Lakes region, the 290,000-square-foot Penn Yan Academy provides an intellectually stimulating learning environment for students in grades 9-12. However, while the teachers, students and staff created a vibrant atmosphere inside, the actual building was woefully outdated and not conducive to a modern learning environment.
Completed in August 2010, the new additions and renovations at Penn Yan Academy have transformed this 1960s-era building into a modern 21st century, functional facility for students and staff. The addition portion of the project includes a new wing with a media center, science rooms, classrooms and a gym. Additionally, the entire building exterior underwent a complete makeover, integrating CENTRIA products in rich blues and cool, elegant grays along with a variety of other cladding products to achieve a fresh, colorful and modern look.
CENTRIA supplied 10,059 square feet of its 20-gauge Profile Series Concept Series with MicroSeam corners in Silver Gray with a smooth Sundance AM coating; 7,667 square feet of 20/22-gauge Formawall Dimension Series vertical wall panels in Silver Gray and Deep Blue Sea with a smooth Sundance AM and Fluorofinish coating; 5,599 square feet of 20/22-gauge Formawall Graphix Series vertical wall panels in Silver Gray with a smooth Sundance AM coating; 3,029 square feet of 20-gauge Profile Series IW Series IW-10A vertical wall panels in Deep Blue Sea with a smooth Fluorofinish coating; 1,556 square feet of 20/26-gauge Formawall Dimension Series horizontal wall panels in Silver Gray with a smooth Sundance AM coating; and Integrated Louvers. The Formawall Graphix and Dimension Series, Profile Series Concept and IW Series are all Cradle to Cradle Silver certified.
