Plaza Azteca, Newport News, Va.

A Mexican restaurant was brought back to life after a fire destroyed the original building in 2009. Complete Roofing Solution installed 1,800 square feet of ATAS International's 0.032-inch Techo Tile in Mission Red. The panels were installed vertically up the slope of the roof with exposed fasteners. The building materials work well with the restaurant's theme; the Techo Tile has a deep configuration in the form of an "S" or Spanish tile.

In addition to the aesthetic appeal, metal is a great choice in preventing future fires, as Jim Bush, vice president of sales for ATAS, explains: "One of the many benefits of metal roofing is that metal is a non-combustible material, making metal roofing an excellent choice for this retrofit project. In fact, metal roofing often earns a Class A fire resistance rating from Underwriters Laboratory. Contractors and building owners should always discuss fire ratings with manufacturers before selecting roofing materials because insulation, decking and other system components will impact an overall roof rating."

Now fit with a roof and fireproof materials, the Plaza Azteca restaurant is ready to serve the Newport News community authentic Mexican cuisine.
