Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Tacoma, Wash.

EHDD specified three blue colors of metal tiles to mimic fish scales on the exterior of Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium.

To complete the project, Northshore Exteriors Inc. installed 12,000 square feet of Pure + FreeForm’s 0.8-mm aluminum tiles for the 35,000-square-foot project. The metal tiles are finished in three of Pure + FreeForm’s custom finishes: Aquamarine, Brushed Azure and Light Grey. Pure + FreeForm produced the finishes with AGC Chemicals Americas Inc.’s FEVE Lumiflon coating.
