Primland Resort Meadows of Dan, Va.

MetalTech-USA supplied the zinc composite material for this new resort. The John S. Clark Co. was the project manager and contractor for the resort which includes three 2,000-square foot (186 m2) Fairway Cabins, a North Entry Gate House, a Pavilion at the 10th Fairway Cabins and a 70,000-square-foot (6,503 m2) Golf House to include 26 rooms.

The luxury Primland resort was designed to resemble an old farmhouse with a silo attached. The silo is fabricated of ZCM zinc with a PE core. The ZCM panels are an SAF Metal Fabrication (a branch of Southern Aluminum Finishing Co. Inc.) rainscreen system fabricated and installed by Gate City Contract Glazing. The architect was CMMI.

There is a golf club on first level of the metal silo, while the second and third levels house one bedroom suites. The fourth level is an observation deck used for pre-function gatherings and small meetings. An observatory tops the structure with a telescope; closed-circuit TV feeds views of the night sky to the rooms. The covering dome is galvanized steel, custom built by Ash Manufacturing. The dome is fully functional, both turning and opening.
