Unveiled in September 2011, the new School of Business features IMETCO’s SS Panel and PermLok metal roof panels made of 24-gauge galvanized steel painted in Platinum Silver Kynar. IMETCO was selected for its ability to meet the various challenges presented by the metal design on this project, including tapered metal roofing sections, curved metal roofing sections at vaulted dormers, and an equipment screen over open framing. IMETCO’s single-source metal roofing solution included using SS Panel metal roofing in straight, tapered and curved roofing areas, and PermLok metal roofing for the equipment screen.
Celli-Flynn Brennan Architects & Planners designed the building to create a strong identity for the Business School that blends with the historic garden and the surrounding buildings. The modern twostory, 18,000-square-foot building houses the United States Steel Corp. video conferencing and technology center, ATI Center, PNC Trading Simulation Room, general classrooms, faculty computer lab, student zone, executive board room and offices for the university’s president and vice president. RMU’s new business school is part of the $40 million “Changing Lives, Building Futures” fundraising initiative.
