To shade social spaces with floor-to-ceiling windows at the Traditions North and Traditions South residence halls at Tarleton State University, BOKA Powell specified metal mesh panels in its design.
Eric Van Hyfte, principal at BOKA Powell, says, “The gradated translucency of the overlapping panels, and the shadows they cast, creates a beautiful effect that animates both the interior public spaces and the pedestrian mall.”
Approximately 2,300 square feet of Cascade Architectural’s Fabricoil copper-clad steel fabric was used for the project. The mesh panels are attached with suspension cables, which make them appear to float.
