Agriculture & Self Storage

Williams Selyem Winery, Healdsburg, Calif.

Located in Healdsburg, Calif., the
Williams Selyem Winery was the first from-the-ground-up winery to be constructed in Sonoma County in nearly a decade. The administration building is capped by a cantilevering barrel-vaulted roof structure comprising wood on the soffit and approximately 7,700 RHEINZINK stepped panels for the roof, fascia and soffit. The sides of the building utilize local redwood and masonry.

To capture the essence of Williams Selyem’s iconic status within the industry and its place in Sonoma’s cultural evolution, the design recognizes the winery’s natural and minimalist philosophy while demonstrating Sonoma’s evolving modernization process. As the most public building, the administration building uses iconic elements of winemaking as a generator of form and meaning.

“The flying barrel vault panel system is beautiful,” says Alex Ceppi, lead designer and design architect with D.arc Group.
