Bright, multi-colored murals evoke the seasonal environments of Mountain View, Calif., on the exterior of Google LLC’s parking garage. The murals comprise thousands of aluminum flaps, which form a pixelated appearance and flutter with wind. Arrow Sign Co. installed Exterior Technologies Inc.’s (EXTECH) KINETICWALL facade system with 111,692 flaps. Linetec finished the flaps with 35 of Akzo Nobel Inc.’s and APV Engineered Coatings’ 70 percent PVDF resin-based coatings and customized paint formulations to match Pantone colors selected by artist Kim West, who created paintings on which the murals are based.
