Phoenix Steel Processing LLC (Cleveland, Ohio) recently installed a Red Bud heavy gauge cut-to-length line with stretcher leveling, including a fully automatic packaging line.
The new line will increase throughput while reducing personnel requirements. It includes a prep station for coils before they are loaded onto the uncoiler. Once prepped and the previous coil tails out, the next coil is automatically loaded onto the mandrel.
In all, the new line consists of a coil stage and load system rated for 60,000 lb coils, dual uncoiler, peeler breaker, pop top precision straightener, T2 40 stretcher leveler, dust collector, crop shear , dual direct drive servo roll feed, shear with quick change blades, 30-ft drop stacker, stack tables, end discharge roller conveyors, crossbay traversing conveyor, and automatic packaging system.
