Reroofing solution combines engineering services and building products
BETCO Inc.’s metal-over-metal reroof system is engineered by the company with its roof trims, gutters and downspouts. The roof-over roofing system strengthens existing roof purlins, supporting the new roof’s weight. Trades workers remove gutters and trim, cut back roof panels flush with wall panel ribs, install subpurlins, insulation, cavity closure angles, panel clips, roof panels, gutters and trim. The reroof system uses New Tech Machinery Corp.’s mechanical seam panel profiles: the SSQ200 2-inch seam and TRQ250 2 1/2-inch seam trapezoid. Also, Roof Hugger LLC’s subpurlins, unfaced fiberglass insulation from Bay Insulation Systems, and fixed or floating panel clips are used.

Runner machines install double-layered insulation
Bay Insulation Systems Inc.’s Bay Runner Insulation System uses runner machines to go on top of three Z-purlins and dispense fabric. Double-layers of insulation are installed. Insulation is placed between purlin spaces, parallel to purlins, over dispensed fabric. Second layers of insulation are installed over first layers, perpendicular to purlins, followed by thermal spacer blocks.

Mechanically seamed panels are used in roof overs
McElroy Metal’s 238T symmetrical, mechanically seamed standing seam roof system can be used in roof overs. Panels are produced in aluminum, Galvalume and copper and long panels are rollformed on site. Individual panels can be replaced. Specifications include FM4471 wind uplift, ASTM E1680 air filtration and ASTM E1646 water infiltration.
