Cornerstone Church, Boulder, Colo.

Infusion Architects LLC designed an expansion and renovation project for Cornerstone Church with a metal building system. At the northeast corner of the building, to prevent the roof from casting a shadow on a residence below it, Infusion Architects designed the roof with a skew in it.

On a portion of the existing building, an existing asphalt shingle roof and solar panels were removed. On the metal building addition to the church, DD Construction installed Butler Manufacturing’s 24-gauge Galvalume M-24 standing seam roof system with a natural finish. ALE Energy LLC removed the solar panels and reinstalled them on the new metal roof.

DD Construction erected Butler’s 6,000-square-foot metal building on a second-story stem wall. At the church entrance, a tie-in canopy was fabricated and installed. Inside the building, DD Construction built a mezzanine on the second level over a basement foundation and on top of conventional flooring.

For walls, DD Construction installed Butler’s 4-inch-thick, stuccoembossed TextureWall insulated metal panels (IMPs) coated in Texture-Cote Aspen White and Texture Gray.
