Rollformed downspout
Rollformed downspouts from MBCI are available in 26-gauge in all of MBCI’s standard colors. They are manufactured in lengths of 10 1/2 and 14 1/2 feet (3 and 4 m), with custom lengths up to 20 1/2 feet
(6 m). Separate kick-outs and elbows are available as well. The new rollformed downspouts offer advantages over the traditional press-broken rectangular downspout. It is an aesthetically pleasing option for a building and the rollformed downspout, 4- by 5-inch
(102- by 127-mm), provides nearly 43 percent more area than the 3 1/2- by 4-inch (89- by 102-mm) downspout while still working with MBCI’s existing gutter profiles. This can help to reduce the number of downspouts required on a building, generating additional savings in both material and installation labor. Another benefit of using the rollformed downspouts is the ease of assembly on tall buildings. This is because one end of it is swaged and mitigates the need to notch one end of the downspout to connect it to the next downspout. This swage feature is greatly advantageous on buildings with eave overhangs where the downspouts must return to the wall requiring the use of at least two elbows.
Vacuum lifters provide rotation and tilt
Wood’s Powr-Grip Co. Inc.’s Manual Rotator/Tilters deliver manual 360-degree rotation and 90-degree tilt for quick and efficient handling of insulated panels and other cladding materials. Cord-free, DC power allows operation of these below-the hook vacuum lifters from forklifts, cranes or floor hoists, whether in the shop or on the job site. Movable vacuum pads and extension arms create three unique configurations for handling materials of nearly any size. Manual Rotator/Tilters may be hung from a forklift mounted boom or equipped with an optional Forklift Adapter, which rigidly attaches the lifter directly to the forks. In either case, these versatile vacuum lifters speed the production, transfer and installation of nonporous material.
