Novelis
Novelis introduced a new aluminum sheet product with a minimum of 70 percent post-consumer recycled content. The new Novelis recycled aluminum products for green solutions are being offered by the Specialty Products Group of Novelis in North America. Novelis recycled aluminum products are designed to offer sustainable solutions that deliver all the features of standard alloys for various consumer and industrial end-use applications such as appliances, electronics, and building and construction. Novelis recycled aluminum products meet the ISO 14021 standard for post-consumer recycled content. Within the building and construction industry, these products meet the criteria for sustainable materials according to the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED green building certification system.
SnoBlox-Snojax
The Eco-Blox recycled snow guard from SnoBlox-Snojax is made from post-consumer polycarbonate. Polycarbonate snow guards are sustainable in a variety of ways, including energy conservation in manufacturing and the potential for recyclability upon demolition. The Eco-Blox is based on our popular DEUCE model and can be adhesive or mechanically fastened and requires a 1 1/2-inch
(38-mm) flat mounting area. This product is ideal for both new construction and retrofit applications. The Eco-Blox is available in Clear with a slightly darker UV tint.
Green-Source Products
The High Performance Green Building System from Green-Source Products LLC is a light-gauge galvanized metal wall and roof framing system that integrates the strength and rigidity of traditional steel framing with the efficient, rigid insulation characteristics of expanded polystyrene. Fully engineered and pre-assembled in up to 40-foot (12-m) sections, HPGBS is delivered to the job site with factory-cut and framed window/door openings and horizontal/vertical, electrical/plumbing prerouted wire chases, allowing for fast and easy installation. HPGBS contributes to LEED certification and qualifies for tax incentives.
Sapa Extrusions
Extruded aluminum products from Sapa Extrusions North America offer unique environmental advantages for the greenarchitectural design, building and construction industries, as well as for industrial and consumer markets. Sapa Select Green Anodic Coatings are available from Sapa Profiles Inc. and Sapa Extrusions LLC. This advanced product reduces the amount of waste sludge generated with an improved process that exceeds American Architectural Manufacturers Association specifications while virtually eliminating die lines and streaks for a superior surface appearance and greater color consistency.
In addition to the anodic coatings, Sapa Extrusions LLC also offers two complementary products with added environmental benefits: Sapa Green Billet, with a minimum of 95 percent external/internal recycled content, exceeds the LEED Standards of the U.S. Green Building Council; and Sapa Eco-Powder is a chrome-free process. Sapa employs a batch paint process that accommodates even small projects/pieces.
